The Columbia River Gorge is a beautiful recreational area offering a vast variety of outdoor activities.
From surfing, hiking, camping, waterfalls, whitewater rafting or inner tubing to museums.
From Crown Point you can overview the Columbia River flowing beneath you, just a few miles further into the Gorge you can see dozens of waterfalls like Multnomah Falls, Horsetail Falls or Triple Falls to mention just a few.
A little further east you can visit the town of Hood River, a picturesque little town where almost half of the nations winter pear crop is produced. Also called the windsurfing capitol of the world, it's not far to Mt. Hood, the highest Peak in Oregon.
Mt. Hood, with it's 11 glaciers is covered in snow all year round. Set of the famous movie "Shining" the historic Timberline Lodge is a great stop for skiers and hikers. It's close to six ski areas and several alpine lakes like Trillium, Mirror and Lost Lake.
Viewing it from the air in a helicopter will give you a completely different perspective of this great area.
